Position Summary
As a Purchasing Manager , you will define and execute the company’s global sourcing and procurement strategy, ensuring long-term competitiveness, supply stability, and cost optimization across all categories. You will oversee strategic supplier partnerships, lead cross-functional initiatives that strengthen supply chain resilience, and align purchasing strategies with corporate objectives and growth plans. This role requires a visionary leader capable of transforming procurement into a value-generating function through innovation, data-driven decisions, and continuous improvement. You will provide strategic direction to the purchasing organization, mentor managers and buyers, and act as a key business partner to operations, finance, engineering, and executive leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership & Vision : Define and implement a global sourcing strategy that supports business growth, cost efficiency, and operational excellence. Translate corporate goals into actionable procurement initiatives.
- Supply Chain Resilience : Anticipate and mitigate supply chain risks through strategic supplier diversification, long-term agreements, and contingency planning to ensure uninterrupted production.
- Supplier Partnership & Performance : Develop executive-level relationships with key suppliers to drive innovation, quality, and reliability. Establish governance models for performance reviews, continuous improvement, and joint business planning.
- Cost Management & Value Creation : Lead cost-optimization initiatives using total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis, benchmarking, and market intelligence. Identify opportunities for value engineering, redesign, or process efficiency.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration : Partner with Operations, Engineering, Finance, and Program Management to ensure procurement strategies are fully aligned with company priorities, new product launches, and operational goals.
- Process Excellence & Compliance : Standardize and optimize procurement policies, ensuring alignment with corporate governance, ISO standards, and ethical sourcing practices. Leverage ERP and data analytics for decision-making and transparency.
- Leadership & Organizational Development : Lead, mentor, and develop the purchasing management team. Build talent pipelines, elevate team capability, and foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation.
- Strategic Reporting : Provide executive-level visibility into supplier performance, risk exposure, cost-saving achievements, and strategic sourcing progress through dashboards and quarterly reviews.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred).10+ years of progressive experience in strategic procurement or supply chain management, including 5+ in leadership roles.Proven track record leading global sourcing strategies and managing complex supplier ecosystems.Strong business acumen with experience in financial planning, cost modeling, and contract management.Expertise in ERP / MRP systems and data analytics for strategic decision-making.Experience in electronics manufacturing or high-mix, low-volume environments (preferred).Excellent English communication and executive presentation skills.Lean / Six Sigma certification preferred.Soft Skills
