Job Overview
The Principal SME Engineer is responsible for driving excellence across product families within our manufacturing operations. The role requires a knowledgeable subject matter expert in manufacturing engineering and Energy products and processes, with a strong focus on optimizing product family processes and ensuring consistency, quality, and innovation. The role requires leadership, technical expertise, and a collaborative approach to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.

- Serve as the product family and Center of Excellence subject matter expert for molded products
- Development of high technology advancements that lead to process excellence and intellectual properties
- Drive a culture of change through process benchmarking and optimization through technical expertise
- Collaborate and network across the organization to drive continuous improvements
- Develop process standards that surpass industry competitors
- Develop and deliver training and knowledge sharing applicable to product families and processes to enable organizational learning
- Support strategic business project execution and management

What your background should look like
Requirements
Extensive experience in manufacturing engineering, with a focus on product family processesProven track record of leading and implementing process improvement initiativesStrong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologiesExcellent leadership, organizational, and project management skillsStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsExceptional communication and interpersonal skillsExperience with ERP systems and their role in manufacturing operationsFamiliarity with statistical process control (SPC) and failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA)Knowledge of Industry 4.0 standards and practicesEducationBachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related fieldAdvanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in a relevant field. (Preferred)Competencies
