Global Sourcing Position Summary :
Responsible for creating and executing global long-range strategy for a $25M complex portfolio spend that support Global supply chain objectives around growth, innovation, quality, cost, service, and operational excellence. This position requires technical knowledge in packaging, wood industry, and hardware and fasteners applications that enable optimized financial, quality, and strategic, product life cycle change results for Hussmann.
Develop and execute strategic, global multi-year plans in co-ordination with Sourcing Director by leveraging all sourcing enablers including should cost analysis, low-cost country sourcing, VA / VE (substitution, standardization, weight reduction etc..), buy to drive operational excellence in quality, productivity, innovation and working capital.
- Lead business intelligence for this area of spend including global market trends (technology, capacity, materials, etc.) Support product evolution and innovation by actively participating in cross-functional teams and by supporting the New Product Development Process (NPD). Lead supplier relationships and develop long term agreements that accelerate our innovation deliverables and operational targets including material productivity, capacity, service, quality and working capital.
- Serve as liaison with plants, and other functions in cross-functional tasks. Proactively support resolution of issues escalated to Sourcing Manager's level through efficient and effective expediting if required and with emphasis on improving supplier direct response to plants and solving the root cause with SQE Team.
- Investigate and support resolution and follow up on supply chain problems and quality issues. Conduct plants and supplier visits as required.
- Develop productivity pipeline projects to deliver DM productivity goals established in each managed commodity (compressors, valves, tanks).
- Bilingual (English) for not US candidates.
- 3+ years' experience in sourcing of technical commodities is preferred or related technical engineering field, preferably mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or electrical engineering.
