In this position, you are part of a team supporting the policy administration systems used by several types of Commercial P&C insurance products of Swiss Re Corporate Solution North America. The team's primary focus is to consistently provide superior customer service to our underwriting business partners. We respond to issues and requests for change to the functionality as well as continue to find ways to deliver operational efficiencies. To ensure consistent customer focus, strong relationships have been built with our business partners and vendors. The Requirements Engineer serves as the principal conduit between the business and the software development team throughout the lifecycle of an issue or change request.
Job Description
In this position, you are responsible for supporting the Product Owner in defining user stories and detailing out requirements with business support for their use of the policy administration systems. In supporting the business, you will be responsible for collaborating with the business team members, internal IT team members, and vendor team members.
Main tasks
- Gather and understand requirements; work with clients, users, business / product owners & SMEs to understand their requests and be able to translate and breakdown requests into user stories; authoring additional requirements artifacts and project documentation as needed
- Ensure that system changes are in line with business requirements by creating test plans & expected results, conducting some testing, and coordinating with the testing team to review test results.
- Coordinate & oversee the regression testing activities including continually optimizing the regression test cases.
- Coordinate monthly system upgrades including ensuring all changes are adequately tested, coordinating the release to production with our vendor partner, and handle notification of system outage.
- Document Release Notes for system changes, explaining changes in business terms.
- Provide support to end users when they identify issues – attempt to resolve the issues or ensure issues are reported / logged with developers, the correct priority is set, and workarounds are identified.
- Coordinate several monthly batch processes – ensuring they are run on-time, results are as expected, and information is communicated to the business team.
- Monitor interfaces (batch & API) and support & triage issues as they arise. Track issues and follow-up as needed to ensure resolution.
- Handle the business team requests for data by writing SQL report requests from the database.
- Review & update knowledge-based articles used for production support as needed.
- Support / Coordinate testing of infrastructure changes and disaster recovery testing with vendor partners.
- Be an integral part of the team by supporting our need for continuous improvement of our processes and operational efficiency.
- Understand the overall Landscape architect from an End-to-end perspective; work with developers in finding best solutions from a user perspective
About You
