Payroll Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our team in Mexico City. The ideal candidate will be responsible for timely and accurate payroll processing for approximately 150 employees, adhering to internal controls, country, federal, state, local, and international laws, rules, and regulations under strict deadlines and confidentiality.

About You

You will provide guidance to team members on day-to-day payroll processes as the company grows. Collaborate with teams across multiple departments and use your payroll expertise to support complex challenges. As a detailed oriented professional, you will work efficiently under tight deadlines.

This expert will lead payroll and benefits matters, working closely with Finance, Accounting, and People Strategy teams. Developing and improving processes for the payroll function is essential, along with effective communication with these groups.

Key qualifications include logical thinking, high attention to detail, and strict confidentiality.

Responsibilities :

• Processing monthly payrolls for all affiliates of Colombia with an external vendor.
• Monitoring accurate processing with an external vendor, maintaining time and attendance records, processing payroll deductions, compensation changes, overtime, shift changes, and withholding adjustments.
• Responding to payroll inquiries from employees.
• Coordinating with Human Resources to ensure accurate employee information transfer to payroll with necessary backup.
• Serving as point of contact for payroll and timekeeping system, troubleshooting, and problem resolution.
• Preparing and providing required payroll and related reports for month-end and general ledger posting.
• Reviewing and completing periodic and year-end reporting information accurately.
• Responding to auditor inquiries and local tax authority requests.
