Design Release Engineer (DRE) – Seat Systems, Structures & Components (Advanced)
Location : Saltillo, Coahuila
We are looking for an Advanced Design Release Engineer (DRE) to join our team in Saltillo. This role will focus on the design, validation, release, and continuous improvement of seat structural components (frames, recliners, tracks, mechanisms, cross-car structural members). The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with safety, comfort, durability, cost, and manufacturability targets throughout the entire product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and release of seat structural components (frames, recliners, risers, tracks, mechanisms).
- Ensure compliance with crashworthiness, safety, durability, NVH, and ergonomic requirements .
- Manage BOMs, Engineering Change Notices, and release documentation in PLM systems (Teamcenter / Enovia).
- Support prototype builds, pre-series, and production launches .
- Coordinate and track DVP&R testing (structural, fatigue, crash, comfort, durability).
- Conduct DFMEA / PFMEA, drive root cause analysis, and resolve technical issues.
- Collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional teams (manufacturing, validation, quality, purchasing).
- Apply knowledge of structural materials (high-strength steels, aluminum, castings, composites) and processes (welding, stamping, hydroforming, extrusion).
- Benchmark designs for cost, weight, and performance optimization .
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Mechatronics, or Structural Engineering .4–7 years of experience in automotive seat structures or structural components.Solid understanding of seat system design and occupant safety requirements .Proficiency in CAD tools (NX / Teamcenter, CATIA / Enovia) .Experience with GD&T, DFMEA, DVP&R, and issue management tools .Technical English proficiency (oral and written).Preferred Qualifications
OEM or Tier 1 experience in seat structures or BIW structural design .Knowledge of global safety regulations (FMVSS, ECE).Familiarity with ergonomics, occupant packaging, and airbag integration.#J-18808-Ljbffr
