We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Sanctions Alert Analyst .

Responsibilities

  • Complete sanctions investigation activities within the Regional Sanctions Alert Adjudications team.
  • Investigate Level 2 / 3 sanctions alerts for transaction activity and determine True Match or False Positive by following Global Standards for Level 2 / 3 Sanctions Alert Adjudication.
  • Record all decisions accurately and escalate True Matches to the relevant Country Sanctions Officer; maintain accurate and timely information required to produce ongoing operational and strategic management information.
  • Fulfilling and executing required Regional level alert adjudication.
  • Follow Global Standards on the decision making of False Positives and Potential True Matches that have reached Level 2 / 3.
  • Support the Sanctions Alert Investigations Lead in achieving their management responsibilities and provide subject matter expertise for globally led sanctions change initiatives within the Region and the Regional Alert Investigations Team.
  • Act as the initial escalation point for issues raised by Country Sanctions Officers or colleagues from the Lines of Business.
  • Ensure full adherence to Global Standards Policy within the Region, including related Sanctions Guidance and Operating Procedures.
  • Assist Alert Adjudication Lead in identifying sanctions themes and trends.
  • Escalate sanctions breaches to the appropriate escalation point and timely escalate confirmed True Matches to Country Sanctions Officers.

Requirements

  • University degree in International Relations / Political Science (preferred but non-mandatory)
  • Strong critical thinking skills
  • Interest / awareness of geopolitical events that have / could have an impact on sanctions.
  • Lateral thinker with an ability to interpret and solve complex issues
  • High level of English language skills
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent communicator with strong interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Ability to adapt to change and provide input where necessary
