You will perform the duties of anElectrical Designerunder the supervision of senior designers and project managers.
You will be involved in various retail, commercial, and industrial projects.
The range of tasks will vary from lighting design, power distribution, fire alarm systems, LV systems, lightning protection, etc.GF's long-standing success is built around two core principles.

Core duties and responsibilities include the following.
Other duties may be assigned as needed.Provide a wide range of engineering and technical consulting services to GF's retail, commercial, residential, and industrial clients, including lighting design and power distribution design.Respond to RFIs and AHJ's permitting comments.Coordinate with construction crews for equipment installation.Review designs for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, applicable codes, and client specifications.Collaborate with architects, clients, and other disciplines (MEP / FP, architectural, structural) to ensure integrated project delivery and to maintain strong relationships.Prepare one-line diagrams, grounding layouts, and power plans showing electrical device layouts, circuitry, fixtures, and equipment.Layout normal / emergency lighting and lighting controls, including lighting controls such as switches, dimmers, occupancy / vacancy sensors, and daylighting zones.Perform electrical calculations including fault current studies, arc flash analysis, coordination studies, voltage drop, conductor sizing, panel schedules, and electrical load analysis.Develop photometric plans using Visual Studio; identify and layout emergency lighting and exit signage based on egress paths.Study as-built drawings to identify existing panels, switchboards, transformers, and determine voltage and capacity of each panel.Locate and circuit receptacles per NEC, including sizing breakers and coordinating with equipment layouts from architectural, plumbing, mechanical, and low voltage plans.Review lighting plans for discrepancies and code compliance; select back-of-house fixtures and create lighting fixture schedules.Add demolition notes, sheet notes, and general notes to clearly define scope of work.Prepare single line diagrams incorporating existing elements; size conductors, check voltage drop, and prepare feeder schedules.Perform short circuit analysis using EZ Power and select appropriate AIC ratings.Specify materials for conduits, conductors, panels, and other electrical components.Review submittals for compliance with construction documents and respond to RFIs during construction phase.Fill out Title 24 energy calculations or ComCheck.Required Skills and Abilities : General knowledge and understanding of the project development process, including construction, retail, and commercial lighting and electrical system design.Ability and willingness to work with designers and project managers in the US.Knowledgeable in Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, BIM360, MS Word, and MS Excel.Sound knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and NFPA codes.Strong communication skills (both written and oral), customer-driven, and display teamwork behavior.Ability to work and meet deadlines in a fast-paced and competitive environment.Ability to multi-task and be flexible, along with the ability to adapt to project deadlines.Ability to apply passion and enthusiasm for design in a collaborative and progressive team-oriented work environment.Willingness and desire to learn new technical and soft skills.100% bilingual English / Spanish; Excellent written and verbal communication skillsEducation and Experience : Bachelor's Degree or Master's degree in Electrical, Building, or Architectural Engineering.2 to 10 years of relative experience.Experience with multihousing and commercial projects is highly desirable, especially with knowledge of California local building codes and Title 24.Experience with international or U.S.-based projects is highly desirable.Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM360 is highly desired.Willingness to travel abroad is required; having a valid U.S. visa is a plus.Physical Demands : The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
