HERE Technologies is hiring a Senior Software Engineering Manager to join the Mapmaking team in Schwalbach, Germany. The Mapmaking team builds and operates core technologies and services for onboarding, processing, and quality assuring digital map data. You will lead cross-functional, globally distributed teams responsible for developing high-scale map processing services, evolving geospatial algorithms, and managing AWS-based infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Act as a technical leader and effective people manager, able to participate in technical discussions, serve as a subject matter expert, and influence strategic product and technical decisions.
• Hire, coach, and develop talent to foster an engaged, collaborative, and high-performing team culture.
• Collaborate with Product, Program, Sales, and Architecture to define technical product and business solution requirements.
• Contribute to technical architectural design and reviews.
• Enable globally distributed teams to execute high-velocity software development, support their needs, and remove barriers to progress.
• Communicate progress, issues, and needs to senior leadership.
• Drive software development processes and ensure conformance to software quality standards.
• Collaborate with other engineering teams to meet cross-functional goals on schedule.
• Lead the team in following Agile engineering best practices.
• Engage with industry developments in geospatial data processing, open-source software, and related market trends.

Tech Stack : Java, Scala, Python, SQL, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, GitLab, Spark, Kafka, GeoJSON.
