Job Profile : Data Architect Consultant

Location : Remote (Colombia or Mexico) – with availability to travel to the United States

Engagement : 3-month project (hands-on consulting role)

Language : Advanced English required

Role Purpose

The Data Architect Consultant will act as a hands-on advisor within the client’s Data Workstream, leading the design of enterprise data architecture, governance, and modeling practices. The role ensures a scalable, tech-agnostic foundation that supports integration, analytics, and AI readiness.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver the Enterprise Data Model.
  • Build Logical, Physical, and Canonical Data Models across three priority data domains.
  • Document and deliver Data Dictionaries in collaboration with the client’s Data Workstream.

Data Governance & Standards

  • Establish the initial data governance framework (naming conventions, schema evolution, lineage tracking).
  • Define and implement data standards to ensure integrity, scalability, and compliance.
  • Enable readiness for analytics, AI, and event-driven integration.

    • Tooling & Best Practices

  • Assess and recommend data modeling tools aligned with client needs and integration platforms.
  • Provide guidance on best practices for sustainable data architecture and governance.
  • Operate in a tech-agnostic manner, adapting to the client’s existing ecosystem.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders within the Data Workstream.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, bridging business requirements with technical implementation.

    • Qualifications & Skills

  • Proven experience as a Data Architect in consulting or enterprise environments.
  • Strong expertise in enterprise data modeling (conceptual, logical, physical, canonical).
  • Knowledge of data governance practices : metadata management, lineage, schema evolution.
  • Experience with data integration platforms and tool selection for modeling.
  • Ability to work across multiple data domains with clear documentation (data dictionaries, standards).
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills to engage with client stakeholders.
  • Tech-agnostic mindset , adaptable across cloud, integration, and data ecosystems.
  • Availability to travel to the U.S. as required.
