Join to apply for the Software Engineering Manager role at Backbase. In this key leadership position, you will lead a best-in-class, functional team of software engineers. You define and promote the team’s ways of working, hiring, and training strategies. The primary objective is to facilitate the quick delivery of essential application features and enhancements to the customer by multidisciplinary development teams in a complex environment while upholding the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of the production environment.
A strong background in SDLC Release Management in an agile environment, building procedures and artifacts that are necessary for its development.
You have to be able to manage the release management cycle, from strategic planning, conceptualization, scheduling, rigorous testing, seamless deployment and the effective control of a software release.
Responsibilities
- Lead and grow a software engineering team; define and promote the team’s ways of working, hiring and training strategies.
- Facilitate quick delivery of essential application features and enhancements by multidisciplinary development teams in a complex environment while maintaining production security and reliability.
- Manage the release management cycle from strategic planning to deployment and control of software releases.
- Define and implement Release Management improvements such as reducing manual intervention and aligning the release roadmap with product teams.
- Coordinate with the support team to ensure a smooth handover and production stabilization post-release.
- Manage ambiguity effectively and communicate with stakeholders in both Spanish and English.
Qualifications
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in engineering.6+ years of engineering experience.Experience identifying and resolving risks.Experience in Development and Test.Experience planning next iterations.Verification and validation of changes.Post-release sanity checks and production stabilization.Coordinate with the support team to ensure a smooth handover.Identify and implement Release Management improvements.Ensure the definition and alignment of the Release Management Roadmap with product teams.Experience as people manager of a software development cross-discipline team of at least 10 members.Ability to manage ambiguity.Strong Spanish and English communication skills.Technical stack
