JOB TITLE : INSTALLATION TEAM LEADER

Purpose of the Job

To undertake delegated responsibilities from the Installation Supervisor, PrIM for the delivery of site works; the field operation manager takes responsibility for a stage / package / section of installation within the project contracted installation scope.

Responsibilities

  • The Installation Team Leader or the Installation technician will assume all worker responsibilities as such :
  • Execute specific installation activities according to the design documentation and Installation Supervisor orientation / instruction.
  • Comply with EHS procedures and maintain PPE defined by EHS; ensure collective protections are in place, and alert the supervisor / PrIM whenever any deviation to EHS rules or EHS risk is identified.
  • Make sure the installation has the right means to perform the work :

Tools calibrated

  • Understanding of drawings and Method statement
  • Right material
  • Accurate knowledge / training for performing the work
  • Perform activities with quality – No deviation versus drawings and method statement equals no punch points.
  • Report and alert the hierarchical superior if any risk, difficulties or issues are identified during the installation activities that may impact safety, quality or performance.
  • In addition as Team Leader / Capataz, the following responsibilities apply :

  • Manage the team for performing a task in a work location : review up-to-date documentation, verify tools, verify skills and train workers if required, verify availability of material and equipment, and ensure access for performing the work.
  • Perform reports as requested to the Installation Supervisor / PrIM : Daily progress report, survey report, anomaly report, EHS report, handover preparation, etc.
  • In addition as Fiber Optic Installation Technician – UTP Wiring and Connection, assume responsibilities for : fiber optical installation (installation, fusion and testing), UTP wiring and connection, and related tasks on several previous projects.
  • Train and assess project team – Support Team Leader or Worker – to develop skills and competencies in areas of expertise for a dedicated project.
  • Performance Measurement

  • Quality of installation activities (number of punch points).
  • Productivity as per reference Library2, PPI filling with the Installation Supervisor.
  • Issue of red and yellow drawing reports.
  • MAIN REQUIRED COMPETENCES

    Educational Requirements

    Mandatory :

  • Minimum high school degree, medium technical level in (preferably electronics or electric or electromechanics systems) or equivalent experience of 3 to 5 years in similar functions.
  • Highly qualified technician (Desirable) :
  • Construction Industry (Electrical or Electronic)
  • Fiber Optic Field
  • Technical High-School Diploma
  • Experience

    Mandatory :

  • Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in Industrial activities related to Electrical, Electronic, Fiber Optic Field within industry.
  • Experience on railway products installation methods
  • Desirable :
  • Be familiar with high risk activities in association with Electrical work and EHS requirements
  • Knowledgeable of Railway products and services on different market segments (Urban, Mainline, F&M)
  • Knowledgeable of transversal railway construction activities (civil, infrastructure, electric, etc.)
  • Have a good technical level in electrical, electronic, mechanical and networks domains
  • Ability to have a good communication with other colleagues and other functions (engineering, manufacturing, industrial, quality, etc.)
  • Ability for problem-solving and efficient decision-making in complex environment
  • Ability to work across sites / functions in a multi-cultural environment
  • Team spirit, good communication skills
  • Quality and EHS-focused, rigorous, team-player
  • Resilience with analytic thinking to solve installation issues
  • Good leadership skills
  • Driving license
