The role of the Trade Compliance Specialist is to ensure that Sensata Operations are in compliance for fiscal, customs and all additional related legal regulations in Mexico and other countries for import and export purposesGeneral Responsibilities
- Execute annual Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) testing and reporting
- Coordinate the update of control narratives with process owners
- Partner with external auditors to effectively design and assess controls as needed
- Assists in completion of process walkthroughs including coordination of deadlines with external auditors and business personnel
- Assist with the coordination and supervision of guest auditors as and when utilized for testing
- Assists with executing on all phases of audit projects and compliance reviews including planning, testing and reporting
- Work with management to understand business processes, resolve issues, and communicate findings to the Audit Director
- Participate in special assignments or ad hoc projects as deemed necessary by leadership
- Maintain continuous development regarding knowledge around regulations, best practices, tools, techniques and performance standards Experience / Qualifications
- A university degree and 0-2 years of experience (i.e. Bachelors degree)
- Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands
- Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation
- Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results
- Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity
- Holds self-accountable to achieving goals and standards
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
