We are looking for a Senior Legal Counsel to join our Legal, Compliance, AML, and Privacy (LCAP) team. This role is based in Mexico City and reports directly to the Head of Product & Commercial Legal, Americas Region (based in Sunnyvale, CA).

This is a unique opportunity to be a foundational legal hire in Mexico and play a pivotal role in Ant International’s expansion across Mexico and LATAM. You will partner with world-class product, business, and compliance teams to deliver strategic legal solutions that balance innovation, growth, and risk.

What You’ll Do

Be a trusted advisor : Provide clear, actionable legal advice on product launches, commercial partnerships, and financial services regulations in Mexico and LATAM.
Shape the future : Support the rollout of groundbreaking fintech solutions, including payments, merchant acquiring, multi-currency accounts, lending, and credit tech.
Drive deals forward : Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements with local and international partners.
Stay ahead of change : Monitor regulatory trends and work closely with compliance teams to ensure business strategies stay aligned with evolving requirements.
Enable growth at scale : Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to enable responsible, sustainable expansion in Mexico and LATAM.

What We’re Looking For

Qualified attorney in Mexico with 7+ years of legal experience at a top law firm and / or in-house (financial services or fintech strongly preferred).

Deep knowledge of Mexican financial services regulations and interest in developing expertise across LATAM.

Experience structuring partnerships and negotiating commercial agreements that drive business growth.

Business-oriented, proactive, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, matrixed, global environment.

Excellent communicator who can explain complex legal issues simply and inspire confidence across diverse teams.

Fluency in Spanish and English required; Chinese proficiency is a plus.

High ethical standards and a growth mindset — eager to learn, adapt, and take on new challenges.
