Must-Have Skills

  • Ability to understand dataflow requirements, data movement patterns, and automation strategies.
  • Hands-on experience with GCP as the central data platform.
  • Familiarity with tools like BigQuery and Cloud Composer.
  • ETL and Data Pipeline Development : Designing and building ingestion, transformation, and consolidation processes.
  • Data Integration from External Sources : Working with third-party data (e.g., Excel files shared via email) and automating manual workflows.
  • Collaboration with Marketing and Business Teams : Understanding how data supports personalized experiences (e.g., site content, email campaigns).
  • Awareness of BI Tool Dependencies : Understanding how architectural decisions affect downstream tools like Looker, Power BI, and Tableau.
  • Troubleshooting Data Platform Issues : Supporting analysts when reports fail by investigating issues within the GCP data infrastructure.

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience with Marketing Use Cases or Personalization : Understanding of how data drives customer engagement and tailored experiences.
  • Knowledge of Additional Data Orchestration Tools : Beyond Composer, familiarity with other orchestration or workflow tools.
  • Data Governance and Quality Practices : Ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
  • Cross-Functional Communication Skills : Ability to work effectively with non-technical stakeholders and evaluate and recommend tools, services, and configurations to optimize the data platform.
