About the Role
The purpose of the Sales Manager – Mexico Region leads and manages the entire sales organization, integrating national and key industry sales strategies to drive growth, market share, and customer satisfaction. Reporting directly to the Head of Sales North America, the Sales Manager – Mexico Region, will align with the Key Industry Sales–Mexico, for each specific Industry Segment, manage the day-to-day operational excellence, ensuring alignment with global and regional objectives while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the Mexico Region sales strategy in alignment with global and regional directives.
- In collaboration with the KISM-Mexico, set the sales budget and the targets for the District.
- Lead the field sales organization, to achieve KPIs, sales growth, and market share targets.
- Execute the annual KPIs based on global requirements and local market dynamics.
- Foster a culture of accountability, respect, and continuous improvement.
- Coordinate with the District Managers in performance management, talent development and talent retention for Field Sales in Mexico.
- Assign Sales Reps / Account Reps to customers, revise assignment as needed.
- Coordinate with District Managers all performance targets and input / update into Success Factors.
- Receive input into segment strategy for Mexico and translate in day to day operations.
- Apply the market trends and insights in Mexico.
- Execute on target accounts’ activities.
- Report back to Key Industry Sales-Mexico any relevant Industry Sales Specialist & field sales coordinated activities.
- Hire, train and develop Field Operations Sales in Mexico.
- Coordinate with NA Key Industry Sales Managers and District Managers for talent development, performance management, and retention.
- Promote cross-functional collaboration with Operations, Logistics, Customer Service, Programming, Production, Finance, HR, and Marketing.
Account and relationship management
Oversee account management, including negotiation and closing.Maintain and develop customer relationships, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and engagement.Engage clients with marketing and communication initiatives.Based on strategy, work with industry sales and segment managers.Manage an effective sales organization, focused on customers, growth strategy and accountability.Assure a pipeline of market opportunities that allow sustained growth in sales.Customer development activities
Continuously analyze and keep track of sales and identify up- / cross-selling opportunities within the account using Salesforce.Promotion of new innovative products (Portfolio development).Engage clients with marketing & communication initiatives, e.g., events in NA.Represent Chemetall in on-site visits and key meetings when NA Key Industry Sales Managers are unable to attend.Other accountabilities and admin
Ensure a safe work environment and compliance with company policies.Foster collaboration with the Operations, Controlling, Technical service and Marketing teams.Manage sales-related administrative functions and special projects.Support development of sales-related trainings, e.g., Consultative Sales Process, Target Account Selling, Account Management for Mexico.Coordinate with NA Key Industry Sales and Regional Technical Specialist Manager Mexico request for technical support for key customers in Mexico.Lead the effort and education for the digital processes in place and future ones (Salesforce, Power Bi, etc.).Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree : Engineering, Chemistry or Business Administration preferred.7-10 years of Experience in prospecting and developing new businesses, clients and distributors.5 years as people manager with larger teams (leadership skills).Project management skills.Demonstrated consistent sales management achievement.Demonstrated business acumen.Sales acumen (account & relationship management, value-based selling, etc.).Strategic thinking skills.Proficient in English and Spanish.Strong leadership, coaching, and management skills.Strong cross-functional collaboration skills.Demonstrated ability to develop people.Organizational awareness.Strong written and oral communication skills (presentation skills and assertive communication).This position can be remote but needs to be located near a major airport : 50% travel required.KEY POINTS :
