The Manufacturing Engineer ensures continuous improvement by reviewing production processes aiming highest degrees of efficiency aligned to corporate / site objectives. He / She will be responsible for leading improvement projects and coordinating activities in the project production team to ensure the most efficient, effective, and safe manufacture of quality products aligned to corporate / site objectives.
Provide direct engineering support to the manufacturing production lines. Ensures that the manufacturing process complies with its specifications and that the product meets material qualifications.
Primary Responsibilities
- Plans, conducts, and directs engineering projects or studies including complete projects requiring advanced knowledge of a specialized field.
- Demonstrates the ability to work independently in multiple phases / processes of the Manufacturing Process, without direction from mentors or functional management, as it applies to their role.
- Responsible to create documentation such as Process Flow, PFMEA, Work Instructions, Deviations, Visual Aids.
- Analyze, generate, modify and / or optimize the processes, systems, through measurement and data interpretation.
- Key contributor in the RCPS process with role "Problem Solver". Investigate issues (production losses, quality problems, scrap, broken tools, safety risks, hazards, injuries, etc.), problem-solve, and implement and verify solutions to eliminate recurrences.
- Identify and resolve issues related to wire harness related to wire harness design and production, and implement corrective actions as necessary
- Develop and qualify manufacturing and test processes, including performing process validation, selecting equipment and tooling, and documentation and training.
- Establish harness / cable routing on and assist with integration planning.
- Responsible for applying Lean tools to identify opportunities to implement projects geared to reduce costs, eliminate scrap, improve quality, and minimize cycle time.
- Responsible for ensuring preventive maintenance plans are executed on time.
- Facilitate meetings with cross functional teams to understand the risks, define action plans and drive resolutions to improve Quality, Yield, Throughput and Safety through Disciplined Performance Management.
- Contribute to the workplace safety and health improvement for the employees, as well as environmental protection, by adhering to the company’s Environmental, Health and Safety policies and procedures
- Provide support to harness production and integration teams to ensure quality and reliability
- Ensure manufacturing BOM are correct and routings for new programs.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to product prototypes and conduct initial testing to validate design functionality.
Job Requirements
Education / Professional Qualification
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Electronics Engineering or related field.Lean Manufacturing (Preferred).Knowledge on statistical tools such as SPC, QC tools, FMEA, DOE and Minitab.Familiarity with wiring standards (e.g.IPC / WHMA-A-620, SAE standards)APQP (advanced product quality planning) or NPI (new product introduction) experience.Knowledge of materials used in wire harness production, including.3+ years of experience in wire harness design and engineeringStrong Experience in Final assembly process, electronic products, electric panels and PCBA’s.Experience with robotics applications in compliance with industrial standardsExperience with the development of products to meet safety and compliance standard.Stong Experiance in Wiring Cutting, Crimping Machines, Manual Press.Experience in Laser Welding & Overmolding Process.Seniorit y level
