Software Engineer - M365

Overview
Microsoft 365 powers the world’s largest enterprise cloud productivity system, providing communication, collaboration, search, and intelligent assistance across millions of users. Our engineers build and maintain high‑availability, low‑latency services that are cost‑effective and highly reliable, leveraging API design, machine learning, distributed computing, workflow engines, and algorithm optimization.
Responsibilities
- Drive projects through to delivery, removing obstacles to ensure success.
- Contribute to the design of large‑scale distributed software services and solutions.
- Write clean, well‑tested code.
- Champion and improve team software engineering practices.
- Mentor junior engineers.
- Collaborate with related teams to achieve goals.
- Promote knowledge sharing and contribute to onboarding documentation.
- Participate in the on‑call rotation to monitor service health and manage incidents.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering OR equivalent experience.At least 1 year of experience in software design and backend service development.1+ year(s) of hands‑on experience in an object‑oriented language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, or equivalent experience with C.Global collaboration is integral to our work at Microsoft, and proficiency in English is essential for effective communication in this role.Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering.Ability to communicate technical details clearly.Experience in DevOps for live services or application frameworks.Cloud services experience; Azure experience is highly desirable.Strong analytical skills and a structured approach to software design.Passion for building reliable, well‑tested services.Experience with Agile and iterative development processes.Interpersonal Skills
