Oversee and communicate all cash flow matters, including timely preparation of cash flow reports, management of receivables / payables, and proper fund deposits.
Ensure accurate recording and reporting of revenues and expenses in compliance with hotel standards.
Lead the preparation of annual budgets, monthly forecasts, and variance analysis.
Direct the production and accuracy of daily and monthly financial reports.
Analyze financial performance and provide strategic recommendations to meet financial goals.
Monitor capital planning and ROI for improvements, including bid process oversight and scope evaluation.
Ensure compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, tax regulations, licenses, permits, contracts, and legal obligations.
Supervise and develop the Finance team, providing coaching, training, and performance feedback.
Collaborate closely with the Executive Committee to align financial goals with operational performance.
Support a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and lateral service in line with hospitality standards.
Qualifications
College Degree in Business, Hospitality, Accounting / Finance or related field preferred
Minimum of 5 years of progressive Finance / Accounting management experience in a full service property, all inclusive, or luxury resort
Ability to create, implement and monitor hotel and staff goals, strategies and policies
Ability to be resourceful, creative and maintain flexibility
Ability to train, motivate, evaluate, mentor and direct employees and managers to meet desired ends
Ability to maintain excellent relations with staff and maintain staff and guest confidentiality at all times
Open to feedback and ability to make appropriate changes as needed
Proven team leader with a high level of energy and motivation with a proven track record of living the company's values
A proficient understanding of Computer systems such as : Opera, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
Ability to spend extended lengths of time viewing a computer screen
Possess a gracious, friendly, and fun demeanor
Ability to multitask, work in a fast-paced environment and have a high level attention to detail
Ability to work independently and to partner with others to promote an environment of teamwork
Must be able observant and quick to respond to various situations while also multitasking and handling stressful situations
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
Knowledge of local laws, occupational safety and health, wage and hour issues, and labor relations
