Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Lead custom logic development and validation for NPIs (ASIC / FPGA / CPLD) from concept through architecture, RTL, verification, and qualification, ensuring requirements flow-down and readiness for release.
- Define and maintain standard work for NPI phases; drive clear entry / exit criteria, design reviews, and issue closure to meet Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost targets.
- Structure and solve complex design and test challenges using experiments, data, and cross-functional inputs; propose creative solutions outside set parameters when needed.
- Coordinate tightly with systems, firmware, test, and reliability teams to de-risk interfaces, timing, and functional performance; manage risks with action plans and rapid learn–iterate cycles.
- Mentor early-career engineers; lead small-to-medium NPI projects, facilitating stakeholder alignment and presenting tradeoffs and recommendations with clarity and candor.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering from an accredited university.Professional experience in Custom Logic design, development and validation.Experience using electronic schematic diagramsStrong problem-solving skills; ability to structure issues, run experiments, and sustain improvements.Familiarity with reliability, qualification, and production test flows; comfort working with internal and external partners (foundry, OSAT, vendors).Experience with FPGA development and hardware design languagesExperience with verification methods and testbench development such as VHDL, SystemVerilog, UVM, etc.Clear communication, stakeholder facilitation, and an inclusive, team-first mindset.Desired Characteristics
Experience with high density custom logic designs, FPGA, System on Chip technologiesExperience requirements-based designs, high-reliability, safe-by-design, design / development methods, DO-254 is a plusExperience with contemporary data transfer / communication standards : PCIe, PCI, 10 / 100 / 1000-BaseTExperience with aviation data transfer / communication standards : ARINC 664, MIL-STD-1553, TSN.Exposure to value stream mapping, daily management, and root-cause problem solving.Work in variety of development team sizesIndependent, clear-thinking, problem solvingNote : We may not have a specific job for you today, but are interested in your expertise for tomorrow.
