Senior Core Network Transport Engineer (Latam)

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Core Network Transport Engineer in Latin America.

This role provides the opportunity to manage, maintain, and optimize core and access network infrastructures across both fixed and mobile platforms. You will ensure the reliability, performance, and availability of critical network services, supporting high-volume data, transmission, and broadband systems. The position combines hands-on technical work with strategic planning, including installation, configuration, testing, and troubleshooting of complex transport networks. You will collaborate closely with operations, field teams, and business stakeholders, contributing to seamless service delivery and operational excellence. The role emphasizes advanced networking knowledge, problem-solving, and proactive monitoring to prevent outages and optimize service quality. It offers exposure to international standards, next-generation networks, and a variety of cutting-edge telecom technologies.

Accountabilities

• Manage, maintain, and optimize core and access network systems, including IP / TDM / SDH, DWDM, microwave, GPON, and subsea cables.
• Execute small turn-key projects, acceptance trials, provisioning activities, and configuration of network platforms.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, software upgrades, system testing, and transformations to ensure high availability and operational efficiency.
• Monitor network performance using tools like NMS, Grafana, and cnMaestro; identify errors, congestions, and potential failures and take corrective action.
• Support field technicians and commercial teams in resolving technical issues, installing, programming, and testing equipment on-site and remotely.
• Document network configurations, activation keys, spare parts management, and maintain databases for both local and international infrastructure.
• Provide technical advice, troubleshooting, and recommendations to optimize network operations and ensure adherence to SLAs and KPIs.
