Position Overview
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer with strong design and hands-on skills to support the development of custom automation equipment and manufacturing cells.
The ideal candidate has experience with mechanical design, machine assembly, and integration of automation systems.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and document mechanical components, assemblies, and systems for custom automation projects.
Create detailed CAD models and manufacturing drawings, ensuring compliance with industry standards and internal guidelines.
Collaborate with electrical, controls, and project engineering teams to ensure seamless system integration.
Conduct structural, tolerance, and fit analyses to verify design integrity and manufacturability.
Support machine build, assembly, and debug phases; provide guidance on mechanical installation and troubleshooting.
Research and select materials, actuators, bearings, and other mechanical components suitable for automation applications.
Participate in customer meetings, design reviews, and FAT / SAT processes.
Ensure designs meet safety, ergonomic, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
3+ years of experience in machine design, automation equipment, or custom machinery preferred.
Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar).
Strong understanding of mechanical systems : pneumatics, hydraulics, motion control, robotics.
Familiarity with manufacturing methods (machining, welding, sheet metal, fabrication).
Hands-on aptitude for machine build, assembly, and problem-solving.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Nice to Have
Experience with GD&T, FEA, or other mechanical analysis tools.
Knowledge of safety standards (OSHA, CE, ISO).
Prior work in an automation integrator environment.
