Data Privacy (mid-level) / Chief Compliance (mid-level)

We are looking for a Data Privacy & Governance Specialist based in Mexico City to strengthen our privacy and data governance program, ensuring compliance with global regulations (GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA) and cybersecurity best practices.

This is a hybrid role , requiring periodic on-site presence in our Mexico City office.

English proficiency is required for this position , as the role involves collaboration with international teams and reviewing global documentation.

The ideal candidate has strong experience in data protection, risk assessments, policy development, audits, and privacy-related incident response.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage data privacy and governance policies and procedures aligned with global laws and industry standards.
• Collaborate with legal, security, IT, and cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with data protection and privacy regulations.
• Conduct risk assessments related to data privacy and security, providing actionable recommendations to mitigate potential threats.
• Oversee data classification and access control to ensure proper identification, protection, and secure handling of sensitive data.
• Perform regular audits to ensure adherence to privacy and governance practices.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of data protection measures, proposing enhancements when necessary.
• Support incident response planning and management for data privacy breaches or cybersecurity incidents.
• Stay up to date with evolving privacy laws, regulations, and cybersecurity trends, advising leadership on compliance obligations.
• Provide training and guidance to employees on data privacy, governance best practices, and cybersecurity intersections.
• Prepare reports for senior leadership and regulatory bodies, including compliance audits, risk assessments, and incident management documentation.
