They are responsible for maintaining our critical data stores.

Working side-by-side with Product Owners, Software Test Engineers, and Business Stakeholders, they are actively involved in the complete software development life cycle in an agile environment including technical design, hands-on coding, unit testing, integration testing, performance tuning, maintenance, test automation, deploys and database upgrades.Are you the teammate we are looking for?

The Product & Technology engineering family consists of software development, testing, database, devops, virtualization & network.Enthusiastic about developing the best software available and providing the ultimate customer experienceAn advocate for continuous improvement of our software development processInterested in staying current by applying new technologiesAble to work in a collaborative environment with a willingness to share your ideasAble to work independently on modules and complete tasks with high quality and contribute to high velocity, but unafraid to seek out suggestions from other team membersExcited to work on cutting-edge technologyDuring The First Six Months, You WillWork on a medium or large project overall within a team / areaWork in parallel with peers and often take a leading role on features or refactorsRegularly mentor or coach one or more junior database engineersDesign standalone systems of moderate complexity, or major new features in existing systemsPerform code reviews and provides consistent, useful, constructive feedbackEffectively deliver medium or large team projectsRecognize and surface risks / unknowns and keep work in line with bigger picture goalsProvide input in database design, performance tuning, troubleshooting, error handling and hardware planningResolve data issues and facilitate data analysisInterested in staying current and proficient on existing emerging relevant database technology through self-study and company / vendor provided training opportunitiesRequired ExperienceMust have 2+ years of database experienceMust be adaptable to change and have a willingness to learnMust have a strong sense of curiosityMust commit to their role and take responsibility for their tasksMust be able to work effectively in an agile and team environmentMust be effective and creative in problem solvingMicrosoft SQL Server database experienceExperience with SQL Always On and clustering requiredMongo Atlas or Amazon Aurora PostgreSQLExperience in Performance Tuning, Query Optimization, using related monitoring and troubleshooting tools.Utilizing metrics to trend data for performance analysis and capacity planningResponsibility for database SLAExperience with AWS cloud, Mongo Atlas and Amazon Aurora database highly preferredParticipation in on-call dutiesPhysical RequirementsAbility to sit for extended periods : The role requires sitting at a desk or workstation for long periods, typically 7-8 hours a day.Use of computer and phone systems : The employee must be able to operate a computer, use phone systems, and type.
