A Brief Overview
This role is accountable for shaping and executing the business development strategy for Latin American markets, with a strong emphasis on the Health Line of Business. Will lead high-level client engagement across the region, fostering long-term partnerships and identifying growth opportunities through strategic account planning and market intelligence. Collaborating cross-functionally with internal teams, this role will drive revenue generation and optimize the performance of RGA’s distribution network. Additionally, the position will oversee client satisfaction and retention efforts, while proactively expanding RGA’s footprint in defined markets through frequent, high-impact visits and executive-level relationship building.
What you will do
Maintain and grow a robust client base across Latin America, ensuring long-term partnerships with over 120 companies through strategic engagement and retention initiatives.
Strengthen and expand relationships with high-value clients across multiple countries, positioning RGA as a trusted advisor and partner.
Design and implement annual business development and account management plans aligned with client needs, market trends, and RGA’s global strategy.
Deliver seminars and presentations at key industry events, underwriting and medical forums, and investor meetings to promote RGA’s expertise and innovation.
Monitor regulatory changes, market dynamics, and emerging trends to identify new business opportunities and ensure RGA’s offerings remain competitive and compliant.
Provide strategic input on commercial decisions, including financial reinsurance techniques, ensuring alignment with RGA’s pricing philosophy and profitability goals.
Organize and oversee client visits, regional trips, and strategic events, ensuring productive engagement and alignment with business objectives.
Implement a unified client engagement model, including segmentation, prioritization, account mapping, and relationship matrices for global accounts.
Influence strategic decisions at the regional level and collaborate with leaders across departments to align commercial objectives.
Partner with operations, treaty, and claims departments to ensure seamless execution of business development strategies and client support.
Contribute to special projects, research initiatives, and strategic development efforts led by senior leadership, including the CEO and Chief Marketing Officer.
Promote RGA’s underwriting and medical expertise across target markets, leveraging social media, client events, and global account plans.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date client data in Kapta and other systems to support strategic planning, performance tracking, and client insights.
Qualifications
10 years Actuarial Bachelor’s Degree and some related work experience required
8 years of experience in the review of life and health benefits claims required
8 years of experience in setting underwriting standards, evaluating new procedures and new research developments required
Advanced English Skills (Oral, Reading, and Writing) required
Proven experience in regional or international management required
Health Products Experience (direct or reinsurance) preferred
Experience in a business environment analyzing data and providing actionable insights preferred
Exceptional ability to communicate complex business concepts fluently in English and Spanish, representing RGA in international forums and high-level client interactions required

Demonstrated ability to lead change initiatives, drive adoption, and maintain performance under pressure and evolving conditions required
