Swoon is actively hiring a Sr. Operations Plant Controller to join the team in Piedras Negras!

What will your day-to-day will look like?

Oversee financial management activities including month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, accounts payable, intercompany transactions, fixed assets, and inventory accuracy.
Provide accurate and timely financial reporting, analytics, and investment analysis to support management decisions.
Manage cost accounting processes, including annual standard cost reviews, variance analysis, and monitoring of cost centers to drive efficiency.
Ensure compliance with US GAAP, Mexican GAAP, corporate policies, and Sarbanes-Oxley internal control requirements.
Support internal and external audit processes by coordinating documentation, testing, and inventory audits.
Act as a strategic business partner to the plant manager and operations teams by delivering financial insights, identifying trends, and supporting decision-making.
Lead, mentor, and develop accounting and cost analysis teams while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and performance excellence.

What’s Required / Technical Skills

Financial & Cost Accounting Expertise – Strong knowledge of financial reporting, cost accounting, inventory valuation, and manufacturing finance, with proficiency in both US GAAP and Mexican GAAP.

ERP & Analytical Tools Proficiency – Hands-on experience with ERP systems (preferably SAP) and advanced Excel for data analysis, cost modeling, and financial forecasting.

Compliance & Internal Controls – Deep understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley, internal controls, audits, and risk mitigation to maintain a robust control environment.

Leadership & Team Management – Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop finance and cost analysis teams while fostering a culture of performance and continuous improvement.

Business Partnering & Communication – Strong communication and analytical skills in English to collaborate with plant managers and operations teams, providing actionable insights that drive decision-making and efficiency.
