The Design Team plays a pivotal role in shaping our client's success. This innovative team owns the solution integration design including system availability, issue resolution, device installation issues and responding to customer requests for general support and solution improvement.
Working within a dynamic environment, the Design Team collaborates with Sales, Operations, Production and Service teams to deliver outstanding service to our customers globally. Key to the
team’s success is high levels engagement of customers with the solution as it embeds as a critical part of their business.
As Design Engineer, your primary objective is to deliver a solution design that is fit for purpose.
Ensuring the customer has a high satisfaction when creating a design for them is critical across the
OEM head office and Dealer networks. This role is responsible for creating the mechanical and
electrical design solution. The Design Engineer is also involved in documenting maintenance
tasks and SOPs and contributing to related projects and process improvements.

Responsibilities of the Design Engineer will include, but are not limited to :
Engineering Excellence :
Produce high quality and details installation documentation.Read and interpret customer wiring diagrams, create Directed harness drawings.Review customer 3D CAD data, create Directed sheet metal drawings.Test fit hardware and software in vehicle and write test reports.Record CAN traces of vehicles and review translation files. Document UX logic requirements.Create and review bill of materials, ensuring BOM’s are submitted correctly to finance teamfor cost approval.
Customer Satisfaction :
Keep regular contact with suppliers to ensure parts are as per drawing and validate new partsagainst drawings.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of tickets and technical procedures.Meeting local compliance :
Maintain awareness and stay abreast on local regulatory compliance requirements.Ensuring design solutions are meeting local regulatory requirements.Expertise Products & Improvements :
Participate in operational improvement initiatives for supply to manufacturing line.Keep informed on latest engineering tools and promote best practices.Contribute to a culture of high engineering quality, responsiveness, and continuousimprovement.
Whilst the focus of the role is initially on the one OEM program, the Design Engineerwill be required to participate in wider project activities for our client in
supporting growth within the region this will include travel across South and North America.
Success in the Design Engineering role will be defined by the following :
Achieving consistently high customer satisfaction ratings, demonstrating the effectiveness ofengineering methods and behaviours.
Meeting or exceeding engineering KPIs, including SOPs and installation guide writing andreview time, project task reporting completion.
Following support procedures and processes and contributing ideas for improvement.Active management of open engineering issues to minimise impact on the customer workingthrough issues with 8D discipline.
High levels of confidence and trust in the engineering team by the customer.Some duties include :
Testing new harness or bracket designs in vehicle.Project ticket management.Liaising with Mexico based sales team.Engineering issue troubleshooting and resolution.Answering customer queries about device, platform and hardware and updatingdocumentation.
Investigating performance and connectivity issues.Liaising with Australian teams, providing engineering, customer or sales updatesas needed
Bill of material creation.Cross-team collaboration (e.g., product or service).Eliciting customer requirements and documenting them.Raising new product ideas with product team.Participating in team meetings or training sessions.Reporting on engineering trends and KPIs.Updating internal documentation and external owner’s manuals.Planning support for upcoming changes or releases (e.g., product updates).Attending customer meetings and building relationships.Evaluate the feasibility of new product concepts and / or prototypes throughtesting and analysis, consistent with customer expectations.
