Job Description

Belcan is seeking an Advisor / Consultant - Manufacturing and Supply Chain Engineer to work for our customers throughout México. As a subcontracted advisor through Belcan, you will deploy to our customers as needed to support projects related to Manufacturing and Supply Chain engineering needs. This role involves crisis intervention and on-site support at customer locations and / or suppliers to assess, mitigate, consult, identify, and administer outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Deploy and travel to the customer(s) as needed
  • Act as an advisor and consult with the customer by working as a team member to ensure critical needs are met
  • Troubleshoot major material process problems, evaluate scrap out-of-flow material, and implement or develop new approaches and projects to solve issues
  • Troubleshoot, evaluate, and suggest improvements involving the assembly process, machinery, tooling, gage alternatives, etc.
  • Provide VSM (Value Stream Mapping), Lean, Kaizens, Cycle-time studies, and workload balancing
  • Review, define, identify, analyze, and resolve all process, forms, drawing characteristics, data, discrepancies, inspections, paperwork, and flow related to FAIRs and LAIRs prior to on-site processing
  • Present on-site information processes, customer procedures, supporting documentation, forms, drawings, production, inspections, and quality resolution
  • Identify and complete PFMEA risks and recommended actions for preventative and corrective needs
  • Develop and complete Right the First Time (RFT) analyses, time studies, cycle time, and MSA evaluations
  • Write and update work instructions for new and existing parts
  • Assist, edit, troubleshoot, and resolve needs within manufacturing processes, APQP processes, packaging and relocation support, supply chain, CNC machines and programming, tooling, components, and parts
  • Communicate with shop floor personnel, quality / process teams, customer management, material teams, purchasing teams, and other engineers

Required Qualifications

  • Professional Degree
  • Bi-lingual : fluent / conversational in English and Spanish
  • 10+ years' experience as a SME within manufacturing and supply chain
  • Mexico national citizenship or foreign citizenship with valid work visa or permit
  • Belong to one of these tax regimens with an active status :

  • Persona física, Régimen de Actividades Empresariales y Profesionales
  • Capable of operating onsite alone to represent Belcan and support multiple parties (Customer / Supplier) interests
  • Operate with speed and precision; travel as needed and deploy rapidly on short notice
  • Experience with Automotive / Aerospace / Industrial OEMs, suppliers, tooling and machine operations
  • Ability to assess manufacturing deficiencies and troubleshoot complex manufacturability problems
  • Experience leading short and long-term improvement projects and achieving consensus for process improvements
  • Understanding of contracted KPIs and root cause analysis using lean methodologies for throughput, quality, and capacity improvements
  • Preferred Qualifications & Skills

  • Mechanical aptitude and understanding of design for manufacturing concepts
  • Hands-on experience in shop / manufacturing environments
  • Knowledge of Mechanics of Materials and Structural Design
  • CAD Modeling (2D, 3D) proficiency
  • Proficiency with MS Office
  • Experience with cost reduction initiatives
