About the job. The Director of Purchasing manages and coordinates the overall operations of the purchasing department to ensure that all departments of Resort and Residential have adequate supplies to perform their duties in an efficient manner, within the parameters of the operational budgets. The Director of Purchasing ensures that the Resort operates within all related local and global office policies and procedures pertaining to the purchasing function including compliance with global purchasing programs and group purchasing initiatives where applicable

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review, evaluate, and approve specifications for issuing and awarding bids to suppliers through RFQ / RFP process; and manage all procurement activities including RFP's (Request For Proposals)
  • Manage the contract negotiation process, as well as ongoing supplier oversight, to ensure we enter into and maintain cost-effective & well-managed relationships with all suppliers. Regularly meets with vendors to negotiate improved pricing, product quality, and delivery.
  • Review and approve, as required, purchase order placement to ensure accuracy, optimum delivery, and pricing.
  • Develop strategic multi-location contracts and pricing agreements where possible
  • Develop and implement purchasing strategies aligned with business goals
  • Implement & maintain effective systems (reports, processes, tools) to help manage, highlight variances, report, & fix costing issues
  • Develop and implement purchasing and contract management instructions, policies, and procedures to support the various business departments & leaders
  • Look for new strategies, synergies that provide cost-saving constantly

About you.

  • Bachelor's degree Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience as Resort Strategy Procurement Manager.
  • Understanding of high-end Ultra luxury Resort products and quality
  • Knowledge of customs clearance of merchandise from abroad, customs requirements, and import / export procedure
  • Excellent English and Spanish (Preferred) language
  • Demonstrated budget and expense management skills with a proven track record of operating at or reducing targeted expenses
  • Must possess a high standard of integrity, Ethics and a strong team orientation
  • Exceptional negotiation skills administration, interpersonal and communication skills
