Description
We are looking for a Trainee Analyst to join the Origination and Execution team at Cubico.
This role offers the opportunity to receive high-quality training from our EMEA O&E / Financial Analysis teams (London and Madrid) before advancing your career with the O&E LATAM team in Mexico.
The Analyst role plays a key part in supporting the senior investment professionals in the firm.
The core pillar of the role is to build and maintain complex financial models to support investment transactions.
The Successful candidate will support business development with fast, focused analysis and judge the right level of detail required for each decision.
Additionally, the Analyst will be involved in the various transaction and financing processes, be it acquisitions or the commercialisation of our own development projects.
You will be based in our Madrid office for the first year of employment, before returning to Mexico to support our continued growth in the LATAM region
Key Responsibilities
Prepare financial models for the development, acquisition and project financing of renewable energy projects based on project-specific characteristics and assumptions.
Support in the preparation of internal investment materials for these renewable energy projects.
Support due diligence review of potential new investment opportunities.
Analyse and compare investment opportunities, utilizing discounted cash flow.
Initial quantitative and qualitative appraisal of transactions to establish whether specific investment opportunities are worth pursuing.
Research and analysis of industry information, technical and financial data.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
The ideal candidate will have an academic background in Mathematics, Engineering, Finance or similar degrees.
Strong academic background.
Fluent English & Spanish (verbal & written)
Strong attention to detail and accuracy with excellent analytical skills.
Entrepreneurial mindset, proactive and flexible.
Practical and commercial approach.
Ability to manage multiple and shifting priorities.
Team player able to thrive in a cross-cultural environment.
Fluency in any other European language is a plus.
