Overview

Senior Cloud Platform Engineer (Kubernetes) at Koch. This role will play a key part in the implementation and ongoing improvement of Platform Engineering practices across GP, driving modernization, optimization, and innovation while challenging internal processes and methodologies to revolutionize how value is created within Georgia Pacific.

What You Will Do

  • Design, build, and operate Kubernetes clusters and container platforms at scale supporting multiple environments (dev, staging, production).
  • Implement and maintain CI / CD pipelines for automated deployment and infrastructure provisioning.
  • Develop infrastructure as code using tools such as Terraform, Helm, or similar.
  • Monitor platform health, troubleshoot infrastructure issues, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with development teams to containerize applications and optimize resource utilization.
  • Support critical platforms including consulting, debugging, break / fix execution, and participation in the on-call rotation.

Who Are You (Basic Qualifications)

  • Strong expertise with Kubernetes, including cluster setup, management, networking, storage, RBAC, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience creating and maintaining infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, Helm, CloudFormation).
  • Experience managing a GitHub organization DevOps, Infrastructure-as-Code experience in GitHub Actions.
  • Experience in container orchestration using tools like ArgoCD and Rancher.
  • Experience administering a cloud platform (AWS, Azure), with emphasis on enterprise governance, support, automation and development.

  • Experience with NATS or similar streaming platforms (Kafka, MQTT, RabbitMQ).
  • Exposure to monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
