Descripción del trabajoJob Description : This role is responsible for closing and reporting activities owned by Mars Global Services Finance Americas (MGSF) supporting several BUs. The role supports accounting processes; provides timely and accurate reporting of financial results and analysis of accounting activities through the knowledge and application of Mars accounting policies and principles, US GAAP, applicable local government regulations and Mars transaction-processing system to meet the Process and Control Standards requirements (PACS).The role owns the period-end process, reporting and balance sheet analysis and ensures the accounting integrity and accuracy of all general accounting transactions.This role will also oversee the effectiveness of internal controls for all General Accounting (GA) transactions and ensure that the appropriate accounting procedures are followed. Associate will work with corporate controllership team to understand new reporting requirements and supports new system enhancements / Improvements. Associate is expected to become expert in Record to Report processes and provide valuable insights to the business units as well as support process improvements, automation / digitalization and standardization through leading a team of operations associates. Bachelor’s degree in Finance / Accounting CPA / MBA a plus Master’s degree in Accounting a plus 5 of business experience with deep understanding of our finance processes and systems In-depth knowledge of General Accounting best practices, processes, and internal controls Experience with structuring and managing projects / project management skills is a plus Leadership & Business Support : Actively lead the GA team in Latin America, aligning efforts with overall business objectives and fostering continuous improvement in business processes. Internal Controls : Ensure a robust internal control environment, recommending enhancements to strengthen financial controls. Financial Analysis & Accounting Guidance : Conduct or oversee complex financial analyses and provide technical accounting recommendations to address business challenges. Accounting Process Management : Organize team activities and resources to manage general accounting and period close processes across LatAm regions including Mexico, Mexico DTS, MCCA, Andean, and Southern Cone. Cross-Functional Collaboration : Facilitate communication between SFO upstream accounting teams, Corporate teams, and Business Units to build strong relationships and exceed service levels and metrics. Process Improvement & Reporting : Lead initiatives to improve closing and reporting processes, including presenting results to segment Controllers, CFOs, and S&F Managers. Special Projects & Digital Initiatives : Lead special projects as requested by senior management and support MGSF Global Transformation and digital initiatives. Operational Leadership : Serve as the primary contact for general accounting issues, manage task transitions from Business Units to MGSF, and maintain co-piloting relationships with internal customers. Compliance & Audit : Ensure compliance with Mars Finance policies, Process and Control Standards (PACS), and support internal and external audits to maintain seamless interim and year-end audit processes.
