It also includes the provision of tax support to Diageo's business units, delivery of projects to create shareholder value, and proactive management and mitigation of key tax risks.About the RoleThe purpose of this role is to partner with the Mexico Supply business to drive the execution of the tax strategies, policies and governance framework across Diageo.
Proactively engage with business partners with a commercial mind-set to generate opportunities and to deliver robust tax risk management and mitigation plans.
Support the business strategy and operational activity.
Connect with the compliance team to support on the tax determination, tax returns and tax credit claims.Key InteractionsFinance Business partners and operational teams - Develop and maintain a strong working relationship and stay aligned with business priorities; act as a trusted business advisor to improve overall tax managementSpecialist finance functions - Collaborate with finance functions to deliver end-to-end finance services to marketsTax Compliance, Reporting teams - Collaborate to provide high quality, timely tax activities and outcomesGovernance & Change - Support delivery of changes / improvementsTax Authorities - Contribute to management of relationships and discussions on tax audits or inquiriesExternal Advisors - Support the relationship with external tax advisors and ensure timely, cost-effective and value-added tax adviceRole ResponsibilitiesActive engagement in the management and monitoring of market tax risks, including actions to detect and resolve issues and mitigate the impact of legislative changesAdvise and educate stakeholders on key tax issues to enable adherence to tax policies and standards and mitigate tax riskExecute specific tax-related processes following global standards and governance; identify opportunities for standardisationSupport tax compliance, financial and reporting obligations of the markets, and capital structure reviewsProvide tax support to market-initiated projects to ensure tax strategies are followed and opportunities for tax efficiencies are identifiedParticipate in tax projects to deliver shareholder value and mitigate tax risksSupport market on tax audits and inquiries, coordinating with legal to resolve disputesPerform administrative procedures before the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit and other authorities in a timely and compliant mannerExperience / Skills RequiredThe qualifications and experience you will bring : Accounting or legal qualificationPostgraduate studies or tax knowledge is a plusExperience within a tax function in a global multinational or tax advisory firmExperience managing tax auditsBroad understanding of key domestic and international tax issuesAt least 7 years of relevant tax experience including with manufacturing entities and exports programs - IMMEXEnglish spoken and written (90% minimum)SkillsEffective project management and implementation skillsGood teamwork and communication across diverse culturesAbility to manage riskAbility to embed compliance and ethicsTax Governance and ReportingFlexible Working StatementFlexibility is key to our success.
