Responsibilities
- Provides technical leadership to internal Vertiv functions — marketing, sales, application engineering, customer technical support, service, and manufacturing.
- Lead technical development.
- Collaborates with other groups, including Electrical, Mechanical, Control engineers, System test, customer support, and manufacturing.
- Design and perform testing plans.
- Work closely with technicians and junior engineers, providing technical support and guidance.
- Assist with troubleshooting of escalated or recurring field issues.
- Assist with creation, reviewing, and systems-entry of new product specifications, ECNs, tests, procedures, user manuals, submittal drawings, and sales literature.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Thermal or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.Master’s degree in Thermal science preferred.4 - 8 years of engineering on Direct expansion, Chilled Water and Hydronic refrigeration system development / design.Comprehensive understanding of Refrigeration systems for component design or selection from scratch.Working proficiency of mechanical and thermal design concepts.Ability to follow, create, and organize testing and instructional procedures.Strong mechanical CAD tools experience primarily for review of thermal designs.Experience with thermal design software such as Refprop, Colidesinger or equivalent analysis package.Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to solve (and prevent) a wide range of problems quickly and logically.Excellent planning, organizing, documentation, and communication skills.Ability to multitask and operate in cross-functional Global Development Teams.Fluency in English.Physical & Environmental Demands
The role is primarily based in a manufacturing facility, requiring regular site visits and interaction with production teams.Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to safety protocols.The role involves extended periods of sitting in front of a computer.Occasional standing or walking may be required during meetings, presentations, or site visits.Time Travel Required
