Overview

[MEX] Senior Wireless Communications Systems Engineer

Spectrum Effect’s mission is to solve the most challenging and costly problems in the wireless industry through innovation and AI-powered automation. Our team develops Spectrum-NET, a cloud-native, Kubernetes-based solution that performs automated AI-driven analysis of radio access networks. Our 60+ person team is located primarily in Seattle (U.S.) and Monterrey (Mexico), with stock options and competitive salaries.

This is a hybrid position. The candidate should be based in or willing to relocate to the Monterrey, Mexico area.

Responsibilities

Define product requirements and develop algorithms for cellular network analysis and optimization tools.
Analyze measurement data from cellular networks to support development of features using tools such as Python, Pandas and Numpy.
Analyze and design new algorithms and features for Spectrum-NET.
Proactively apply critical thinking to anticipate possible issues.
Develop creative solutions to overcome difficult problems.
Collaborate with other wireless systems engineering team members.
Work with software development teams and actively contribute to the implementation of Spectrum-NET features.
Analyze data to characterize behavior and performance of new features in lab and live network environments.
Write technical documents and papers specifying technical requirements, solutions, and product goals.

Qualifications

LTE and 5G NR RF network optimization and troubleshooting knowledge with experience on Nokia, Huawei, Ericsson and / or Samsung RAN products.

Understanding of RF propagation, RF interference and how these impact cellular wireless networks.

Skilled in Python and libraries such as Pandas and Numpy for analyzing LTE and 5G PM counter data.

Demonstrated understanding of how RAN PM are collected and reported.

Strong analytical skills in critical thinking, data analysis, research and problem solving.

Understanding of machine learning techniques and its applications is a plus.

Excellent written and communications skills in English.

Master’s Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or Mathematics, or equivalent work experience.

Preferred Skills

Experience with querying data from NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, InfluxDB).

Understanding of machine learning techniques and its applications is considered a plus.
