About The Role : Location : Hybrid. CDMX
Your Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To :
- Lead the development, implementation, and optimization of internal control strategies across the organization to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with the Internal Controls over Financial Reporting and SOX 404 requirements.
- Oversee comprehensive end-to-end process reviews, ensuring deep understanding of business processes and identifying opportunities for harmonization, standardization, and automation.
- Provide strategic guidance to address instances of non-compliance or control deficiencies; oversee root cause analyses and the design of sustainable corrective actions.
- Review of reporting packages and account reconciliations, ensuring compliance with IFRS and the Novartis Accounting Manual (NAM) and mitigating the risk of material misstatements.
- Partner with cross-functional and global teams to identify, assess, and mitigate financial and operational risks, ensuring a proactive risk management approach.
- Serve as a subject matter expert and advisor to executive leadership on internal controls, compliance frameworks, and governance matters.
- Sponsor and facilitate training programs and workshops to strengthen organizational knowledge of internal control principles and regulatory requirements.
- Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement throughout the business.
Minimum Requirements :
University degree – Preferably Finance / Accounting or Business Administration CPA, CIA, or equivalent certification preferred.Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in internal controls, audit, risk management, or related finance functions, with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity.Advanced proficiency in English, with strong verbal and written communication skills.Proficient in MS Office applications such as Word, Excel and Power PointProficient in Microsoft Office Suite (desired)Experience with SAP, or comparable systems, preferred.Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and driving process improvements in a complex, global organization.Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, matrixed environment, balancing multiple priorities with strong execution discipline.Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion : Novartis is committed to building an outstanding, inclusive work environment and diverse teams representative of the patients and communities we serve.
