As an Manufacturing Automation Software Engineer at Molex El Salto, you will design, develop, and maintain advanced automation software systems that support high-volume manufacturing operations.
Utilizing Python programming, industrial communication protocols, and motion control, you will ensure the smooth operation of automated processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that drive equipment efficiency and product quality.
You will be part of the OSBU division, a highly collaborative team dedicated to delivering innovative electronic manufacturing solutions.
Working closely with business units and customers, you will deploy and optimize automation systems, fostering a culture of teamwork, problem-solving, and operational excellence.
What You Will Do
- Design and implement automation software solutions using Python and related technologies to support manufacturing processes.
- Integrate and manage vision systems (e.g., Cognex) for automated inspection and quality assurance.
- Develop and control motion systems, including stepper motors and servomotors, to optimize equipment performance.
- Create and manage databases to support large-scale production data handling and equipment monitoring.
- Troubleshoot and debug automation software, ensuring stable, secure, and efficient operation of systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement improvements and adapt software to new technologies.
- Document software changes and updates, following change control board (CCB / CRB) protocols.
- Provide training and mentorship to colleagues to enhance team capabilities in automation systems.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferably Electronics, Mechatronics, or Software Engineering).Strong proven experience in automation software development within an industrial or electronic manufacturing environment.Proficiency in Python programming and familiarity with industrial communication protocols such as Ethernet, RS232, and I2C.Experience with vision systems (e.g., Cognex) and motion control programming for stepper and servo motors.Competence in technical English for effective communication with suppliers and documentation review.Preferred Qualifications
Experience with source control systems such as GIT and software change management processes.Knowledge of machine learning and AI technologies applied to automation.Green Belt certification or other continuous improvement training.Hands‑on experience with advanced programming languages such as C++ and familiarity with programming motion control equipment.Strong problem‑solving skills with experience interpreting GR&R & CPK studies for equipment validation.Job Details
