First Brands Group is hiring for a Accountant analyst for our engineering division for our office in San Luis Potosí, SLP

We are seeking a Tax / General Accountant to join our Shared Services Center supporting multiple Business Units. This position will be responsible for maintaining balance sheet accounts, executing monthly closings, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with internal controls and corporate policies. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, solid accounting knowledge, and the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and analyze tax balance sheet accounts, ensuring accuracy and timely reconciliation.
  • Perform month-end closing activities in Oracle, SAP, or JDE, including journal entries for accruals, payroll, amortizations, factoring, and intercompany transactions.
  • Prepare financial reports and bank reconciliations.
  • Support general ledger maintenance and ensure proper posting and documentation of accounting entries.
  • Coordinate intercompany processes — including billing, re-billing (refacturaciones), loans, and dispute resolution.
  • Prepare and review account reconciliations for multiple Balance Sheet accounts across different Business Units.
  • Ensure timely and accurate monthly and quarterly closings in compliance with corporate deadlines.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support internal and external audit requirements.
  • Identify discrepancies and problem areas, proposing corrective actions and process improvements.
  • Assist with fixed asset accounting, understanding account types and differences between entities.
  • Prepare reports related to intercompany transactions, ledger balances, and monthly reconciliations.
  • Support automation and efficiency initiatives through Excel macros and process standardization.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA a plus).
  • Minimum 3 years of accounting experience, preferably within a Shared Services environment.
  • Experience with Oracle, SAP, or JDE (required).
  • Strong understanding of tax accounting, intercompany transactions, and fixed assets.
  • Solid knowledge of accounting entries (income, expenses, bank reconciliations, etc.).
  • Proficient in Excel (including macro development) and other Microsoft tools.
  • Business-level English (70% minimum) — able to communicate with regional teams.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple priorities in a changing environment.
  • Detail-oriented, responsible, and committed to meeting deadlines.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement, teamwork, and customer satisfaction.
  • Valid passport and visa (desirable for regional support or travel).
