Metrology Lead
About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and specialized Metrology to lead metrology and quality assurance operations in a precision-driven manufacturing environment. This role is pivotal in ensuring compliance with automotive standards.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Materials Engineering.
Advanced English proficiency (essential)
Minimum 5 years of experience in metrology within the automotive or metal-mechanic sector.
Strong command of GD&T, CMM operation, and statistical analysis tools.
Experience managing quality systems and laboratory operations.
Essential knowledge in the bearing and ring manufacturing process.
Familiarity with customer-specific standards from major automotive OEMs.
Key Responsibilities
Lead specialized metrology activities, including evaluation and dimensional analysis.
Oversee calibration of high-precision instruments such as gauge blocks, dial indicators, vernier calipers, and comparators.
Manage metrology, control device calibration, and metallographic evaluation laboratories.
Coordinate and validate measurement system analysis (MSA) and ensure statistical robustness.
Implement and maintain quality management systems aligned with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, VDA 6.3.
Ensure compliance with customer-specific requirements
Support production and engineering teams with GD&T expertise and dimensional troubleshooting.
Apply deep knowledge of manufacturing processes, including heat treatment, machining, grinding, assembly, and painting.
Interface with OEM clients to meet technical and quality expectations.
Utilize automotive core tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA) to drive continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.
Prepare for and lead internal and external audits, ensuring full compliance and readiness.
