The Senior Procurement Category Manager plans and leads Category initiatives for a clearly defined sub‑category globally or regionally, develops the sub‑category strategy as part of the wider Category Strategy, and leads proactive sourcing projects, specification definition, demand management and supplier performance and innovation activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Translate global or regional category strategy into a sub‑category strategy or country strategy and implement it.
• Implement sourcing plans and deliver sub‑category savings targets following engagement in the target setting process.
• Provide input on overall category or sub‑category strategy regarding segmentation, key supplier relationships, and lead business planning activities to meet targeted goals.
• Manage strategic sub‑category supplier relationships and implement consistent KPIs, ensuring any performance risks or issues are resolved promptly.
• Directly control purchases at a country level when necessary, including supplier choice, timing and commercial conditions.
• Collect supplier information and feedback from divisions, countries, sites, category teams and business partners, and deliver procurement balanced scorecard metrics for the relevant sub‑category.
• Create, apply, complete and review major contracts for the sub‑category, ensuring negotiated contracts are clearly communicated, consistently applied, and that budget / resource allocation is managed.
