We are looking for a
Back End Engineer
based in
Latin America
to work on a long-term pro ject for one of our clients, a software company based in Atlanta, Georgia.
Our client ´s mission is to bring clinical-grade care to anyone, anywhere.
They collaborate with leading clinicians and basic science researchers to develop and market devices and algorithms that improve access to multiple disease diagnoses and treatments.
Responsibilities
Design, implement, and maintain backend services using Django and Python.
Architect and manage infrastructure and deployments in AWS, using Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
Develop and optimize RESTful APIs for interoperability and integration with frontend and third-party systems.
Implement and maintain support for HL7 and FHIR data standards to ensure compliance with healthcare requirements.
Ensure backend systems meet performance, scalability, and security requirements suitable for medical environments.
Write testable, maintainable, and reusable code following best practices.
Collaborate closely with frontend developers, QA engineers, product managers, and regulatory teams.
Participate in code reviews, contributing to knowledge sharing and best practices.
Integrate backend systems with CI / CD pipelines, ensuring reliable, automated deployments.
Manage background task execution and workflows (e.g., Temporal.io or equivalent)
Follow a regulated software development lifecycle (SDLC), aligning with IEC
Requirements
Advanced Level of English.
5+ years of professional experience in backend development with Python.
4+ years of hands-on experience with Django and its ecosystem.
3+ years of experience with AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, ECS / EKS).
Proficiency with Terraform for infrastructure automation and management.
Deep understanding of RESTful API development and data integration.
Strong knowledge of HL7 and FHIR healthcare interoperability standards.
Familiarity with database technologies (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or equivalent).
Proficiency with automated testing frameworks (Pytest, Unittest).
Experience with Git-based workflows (GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket).
Strong problem-solving, debugging, and optimization skills.
Bonus Points
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering or related fields.
Experience in a medical or regulated software environment (IEC
Familiarity with HIPAA and data privacy / security compliance.
Hands-on experience with background task orchestration frameworks, such as Temporal.io, Celery, or equivalents.
Knowledge of monitoring, logging, and observability tools (CloudWatch, ELK, Prometheus, etc.).
