Job Description :   IT Implementation Manager

General role purpose

Manage multiple concurrent internal and customer business systems projects of a complex nature. Responsible for

assembling project teams, assigning individual responsibilities, identifying appropriate project resource needs, and

developing project budget and schedule to ensure timely completion of project. Must be completely immerse into

project’s scope and objectives, as well as the role and function of each team member, to effectively coordinate the

activities of the team. Communicates with Executive Team regarding status of specific projects.

Project Manager is also responsible of achieving SLA’s with customers (IT wise) for the ongoing operation.

Job activities / responsibilities

  • Master capabilities of systems to determine how business requirements are fulfilled
  • Encourage, motivate and develop technical / soft skills of team to deliver IT projects
  • Conduct process / system design sessions to fulfill business requirements
  • Manage vendors and external partners during the delivery of support or new functionalities
  • Master PM methodologies for a successful execution during the delivery of IT projects controlling time,

budget and scope as well as effectively orchestrating all related resources

  • Develop project plans, coordinate and follow up project team during design, test and go live phases
  • Assume the role of IT POC for external customers during implementations, new requests and high priority
  • issues

  • Provide proactive and assertive internal / external visibility during projects and escalate when necessary
  • Develop operations resources as system Super Users to assure technology is adopted and used as designed
  • Develop partnership with other staff and operational areas in the company for the successful completion of
  • projects

  • Understand business requirements, design and implement sustainable solutions using technology and / or
  • process improvement

  • Manage project pipeline for the different IT components in company’s portfolio
  • Establish productive business relationships with customers, business partners, and vendors
  • Conceptualize solutions across multiple applications and / or platforms
  • Design project work plans
  • Use of project administration processes including project initiation, labor tracking, status reporting, and
  • project capital / expense tracking

  • Vendor coordination and management skills in the context of planning for overall project delivery; able to
  • individually coordinate multiple IT groups – either in-house, customer, or third-party

  • Complete and / or coordinate the completion of all project components to meet customer satisfaction

  • Coordinate, communicate, and develop detailed requirements in conjunction with the business
  • Assess project risks and develop proactive plans to mitigate impact
  • Apply system development methodologies for customizations and application implementation

  • Leverage the competencies of project associates to enhance project quality and accelerate results
  • Recognize and manage staff diversity, performance and or personality conflicts
  • Assist others in the completion of assignments through knowledge sharing
  • Apply understanding / knowledge of IT infrastructure components – e.g. networks, platforms, and operating
  • systems

  • Delivers with little day-to-day supervision from IT Executive team
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement projects using IT portfolio
  • Research trends and new technologies on the market to evaluate and develop business cases if they’re
  • applicable in the company

  • Manage applications team to provide support to on-going operations

    Role profile

    Academic profile

    Bachelors Degree or equivalent in a relevant business or technical subject.

    Masters Degree or equivalent in a relevant business or technical subject.

    Experience of 3-6 year designing and implementing Warehouse Management

    Systems for complex operations.

    Experience managing technical / operations teams through project management

    methodologies (PMI, Scrum, Agile, etc) during systems implementation and

    process improvement projects covering :

  • Warehouse Management System (Manhattan Open Systems, JDA, Oracle, etc)
  • System Integration
  • RF Equipment
  • Reporting / Labels
  • Experience leading technical / operations team through project management

    methodologies (PMI, Scrum, Agile, etc) during systems implementation and

    process improvement projects covering :

  • Order Management System
  • Business Intelligence
  • Labor Management System
  • Experience leading / implementing projects with complex integration between

    systems managing integration lifecycle, communication methods (AS2, FTP, API)

    and file types (ANSI x12, XML, txt, iDoc, etc).

    Experience designing and delivering MHE solutions integrated with WMS

    Professional project or program management experience during system design,

    development, or integration projects.

    Experience in planning major projects, including development of project

    proposals, business cases, project schedules, financial justification, etc.

    Experience in the use of project management software

    Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

    Scrum Master certification.
