Description
The Software Test Engineer plays a key role in ensuring the quality and reliability of automotive electronic control units (ECUs) through rigorous and methodical testing practices. This position focuses on applying and evolving testing methods, performing detailed test analysis, and collaborating with cross‑functional teams to ensure consistent and effective test execution across all levels.
Your Tasks
- Apply structured testing methods and analysis techniques at Software testing level.
- Setup and maintain the SIL – virtual ECU (vECU) test environment.
- Define the guidelines for SIL – vECU testing and support the team to implement it.
- Design, review, and execute test cases based on requirements, specifications, and functional safety standards.
- Analyze test results, identify defects, and support root cause investigations in collaboration with development teams.
- Contribute to the definition and improvement of test strategies, plans, and procedures.
- Maintain traceability between requirements, test cases, and test results.
- Collaborate with domain experts, developers, and other test engineers to ensure comprehensive coverage and alignment.
- Support the integration of automated testing tools and frameworks where applicable.
- Document test findings, lessons learned and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Participate in peer reviews and knowledge‑sharing sessions to promote best practices.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards such as ISTQB, ASPICE, ISO 26262, and ISO 14229.
- Support ASPICE assessments and audits by providing accurate and complete test documentation.
- Foster a collaborative team environment and contribute to cross‑domain communication and alignment.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field.5 years of experience in automotive ECU SW testing or embedded software testing.Solid understanding of test design techniques, defect management, and test analysis.Experience with manual and automated testing tools and environments.Experience setting up and maintaining SIL – vECU test environment.Experience scripting test scenarios for SIL – vECU test environment that validates functional requirements.Proficient programming language applied for test scripting, Phyton preferred.Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.Effective communication and documentation skills (C2 English level or higher).Ability to work collaboratively in cross‑functional and intercultural teams.Preferred Qualifications
ISTQB Certified Tester.7+ years of hands‑on experience in automotive testing and requirements validation.Experience with Functional Safety (ISO 26262), and diagnostic protocols (e.g., UDS – ISO 14229).Familiarity with ASPICE‑compliant testing processes.Experience with test management tools (e.g., Jira, DOORS, PTC, DOORS Next Gen, ETM).Travel Requirements
