Fiscal Compliance Coordinator

Key Responsibilities

• Ensuring control of the tax and legal aspects of the Ashland organization in Mexico
• Focal point of contact for Mexico with local tax outsourcing, local auditors, tax authorities and internal areas of Ashland both local and abroad
• To monitor and renew contracts signed with third parties, maintain archive of local files and retention according to local and Ashland standards
• Hold Legal Fiscal Representative role for Ashland entities in country
• Supervisor for Local Admin Assistant direct report

Key Duties

Annual Statutory Compliance

• For the annual statements, to reconcile USGAAP Vs Local GAP accounts and propose necessary adjustments
• Key contact and coordinator with the local auditors, providing the necessary documents and information. Ensure timely audit completion ;
• Work with tax outsourcing partner for compliance to transfer pricing rules
• Coordination with Ashland's lawyers, accounting and legal areas of the annual shareholders' meeting
• Annual renewal of the registration at the Chamber of Commerce

CFDI

• Stay current with CFDI law regulations with the help of local tax outsourcing partner
• Work with internal IT teams to keep SAP up to date timely
• CFDI vendor matching and reconciling. Reconcile vendor invoices per SAT and match with SAP
• Key Back up for invoicing role, if needed rotating responsibility
• CFDI Electronic Accounting; work with tax outsourcing partner for compliance

VAT & Withholding Taxes

• To review the posting of withholding taxes and deductible taxes from vendor invoices
• Supply tax outsourcing partner with data required and provide clarification where needed
• Work with Shared Services center in Hyderabad for GL account reconciliation
• To review and approve the draft VAT return prepared by the tax outsourcing.
• Ensure appropriate Vendor document retention to be prepared for SAT andit and demands
• See to Travel & Entertainment compliance

Income tax

• To prepare monthly calculation of the income tax provision
• To provide outsourcing partner with the additional information and necessary clarifications on the information previously sent
• To review and give approval of the draft of Income Tax return, reconcile with the provision
• Assist local outsourcing partner with Sipred
• To send the document samples required by the auditor to carry out their review

Treasury & Insurance

• Contact for Ashland Insurance & Treasury manager to provide them with local details and work on KYC requirements, compliance

Legal

• Act as local contact for Ashland legal team in country. Maintain data base of local legal agreements to be shared with legal department and central retention to local laws where needed
• Central contact for new service contracts and ensure compliance with local regulations and REPSE regulations in particular.
• POA and Fiscal Representative role for Ashland entities in country

Payroll

• Maintain files compliant to local outsourcing laws in conjunction with HR
• Assist HR business partner & Shared Services team with resolving differences on payroll
• Back up for HR business partner
• Provide secondary signature for official payroll, benefits and related tax filing

Statistical Reporting

• • Adhere to local INEGI reporting needs
• • Respond to other reporting needs locally as applicable

Role Attributes

• • Bilingual Spanish / English, verbal and written
• • Experience within Mexico fiscal compliance area in an international company 3 years minimum
• • Experience dealing with ambiguity, being a self starter
• • Hybrid office setting with office attendance according business needs
