EDW Tester (QA)

Remote (Mexico)

Contract

Develop, execute, and maintain comprehensive test plans and test cases for EDW data processes.
Perform functional, regression, integration, and performance testing for ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) jobs, databases, and data warehousing solutions.
Identify, report, and track defects using issue tracking tools such as JIRA.
Conduct data validation by comparing source and target data to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
Perform data profiling and source-to-target data mapping validation.
Work closely with ETL developers and data engineers to understand data flow, business rules, and transform logic.
Perform end-to-end testing of data pipelines, including data extraction, transformation, loading, and reporting.
Ensure data is accurate, complete, and consistent across different sources and targets.
Collaborate with business analysts and data scientists to understand reporting requirements and provide QA support for data preparation.
Create and maintain documentation of test processes, test cases, and test results.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and recommend solutions to optimize data quality assurance processes.
Support test automation initiatives, when applicable, to improve test efficiency and coverage.

Requirements :

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.

years of experience in QA testing, with a strong focus on EDW, ETL processes, and data-related testing.

Solid experience in writing SQL queries for data validation, reporting, and debugging.

Experience with data quality tools and techniques (data profiling, data mapping, test case management).

Hands-on experience with ETL testing, data extraction, transformation, and loading processes.

Familiarity with data warehousing concepts, such as star schema, snowflake schema, fact and dimension tables, etc.

Proficient with automated testing tools and techniques (e.g., Selenium, QTP, or custom test scripts for data validation).

Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) for validation purposes is a plus.

Knowledge of performance testing for large-scale data systems.

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications :

Experience with Big Data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, etc.) and cloud-based data platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) for test scripts and data.

Knowledge of Agile or Scrum development methodologies.

Certification in QA or data testing is a plus.
