We are seeking a skilled, results-driven Recruiter to join our team and help us secure top-tier software engineering talent. This part-time position (20 hours per week) requires working US business hours, and you'll work closely with our leadership team to source, screen, and recruit exceptional engineers for our fast-growing, VC-backed startup.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Proactively source passive candidates through direct outreach, LinkedIn, and specialized job boards to find top engineering talent.
- Focus on sourcing software engineers (including backend roles), with expertise in technologies such as React, AWS, Python, Kubernetes, and similar tools.
- Conduct initial screening calls to assess both technical and cultural fit, ensuring candidates align with the company's needs and values.
- Lead salary negotiations, ensuring candidates have a clear understanding of the compensation structure, including equity options.
- Work to reduce time-to-hire by managing candidate pipelines effectively and prioritizing critical roles.
- Report on recruitment metrics, including time-to-fill, pipeline status, and candidate experience, to leadership.
- Collaborate with leadership to understand evolving hiring needs and refine sourcing strategies accordingly.
- Devote 50% of your time to direct sourcing and outreach to candidates, complementing inbound applicant flow.
- Research and identify emerging talent markets and new sourcing channels, with a special focus on Latin America and other regions known for high-quality engineering talent.
- Provide strategic recommendations on optimizing sourcing efforts, including advice on countries or regions with top-tier talent (e.g., Argentina, Brazil, etc.), salaries, and skill availability.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Recruiter or Senior Recruiter, with a focus on sourcing software engineers (backend, full-stack, etc.).Expertise in sourcing passive candidates and conducting direct outreach to individuals not actively seeking new roles.Deep understanding of the tech / engineering industry and specific backend technologies (e.g., React, AWS, Python, Kubernetes, etc.).Knowledge of global talent markets, particularly in Latin America, including countries known for strong engineering talent and favorable compensation.Comfortable navigating startup environments, including VC-backed companies, with a fast-paced, high-growth culture.A strong track record of building and executing sourcing strategies that deliver qualified candidates quickly and efficiently.Ability to work autonomously and independently—no need for constant supervision, as you'll take full ownership of the sourcing and vetting process.Strong communicator with the ability to set clear expectations and deliver a smooth, positive candidate experience.Experience in negotiating competitive offers and ensuring clarity on compensation packages (including equity).Previous experience with fast-growing startups is a must, particularly in tech or engineering roles.Preferred Qualifications
