About the Opportunity
Ellucian is seeking a highly skilled and growth-oriented Senior Software Engineer to join our agile R&D teams focused on building scalable, cloud-based SaaS solutions that empower the future of higher education. In this role, you’ll work across the full software development lifecycle—designing, coding, testing, deploying, and supporting enterprise-level solutions that drive student success and institutional innovation.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, leverage modern development practices, and work with technologies ranging from cloud platforms and CI / CD pipelines to AI-augmented development tools.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, troubleshoot, and maintain scalable, cloud-based ERP and SaaS applications, services, and infrastructure components.
- Contribute across the entire software development lifecycle—from design and coding to testing, deployment, and ongoing support.
- Build and enhance front-end interfaces, back-end APIs, and infrastructure tooling, ensuring robust, future-proof solutions.
- Write maintainable, well-documented code with unit and functional tests, while advocating for best practices in usability, performance, security, accessibility, and code quality.
- Support CI / CD workflows, infrastructure as code, and cloud deployment processes using modern tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or Terraform.
- Leverage AI-augmented development tools to improve workflows, automate tasks, and deliver intelligent features that enhance the user experience.
- Work closely with product managers, business analysts, architects, and developers to clarify requirements, solve problems, and deliver reliable solutions.
- Provide development support for customer escalations and participate in a team support rotation to ensure quality and accountability of deliverables.
- Actively participate in Agile ceremonies, contributing to team velocity, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Stay current with emerging technologies, frameworks, and tools to drive innovation and personal growth.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience, with 5–7 years of experience as a full-stack software developer.Strong proficiency in C# and object-oriented programming, with experience in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and modern frameworks such as React, Angular, KnockoutJS, or jQuery.Hands-on experience with .NET MVC and familiarity with MVC design principles.High proficiency with Visual Studio and related development environments.Experience developing applications for cloud and virtualized environments, including deployment at scale.Knowledge of automated testing practices and a commitment to writing maintainable, well-documented code.Proven experience working in Agile development environments, contributing to team velocity and continuous improvement.Excellent problem-solving and debugging abilities, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality solutions.Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Benefits
