About the Opportunity

Ellucian is seeking a highly skilled and growth-oriented Senior Software Engineer to join our agile R&D teams focused on building scalable, cloud-based SaaS solutions that empower the future of higher education. In this role, you’ll work across the full software development lifecycle—designing, coding, testing, deploying, and supporting enterprise-level solutions that drive student success and institutional innovation.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, leverage modern development practices, and work with technologies ranging from cloud platforms and CI / CD pipelines to AI-augmented development tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, troubleshoot, and maintain scalable, cloud-based ERP and SaaS applications, services, and infrastructure components.
• Contribute across the entire software development lifecycle—from design and coding to testing, deployment, and ongoing support.
• Build and enhance front-end interfaces, back-end APIs, and infrastructure tooling, ensuring robust, future-proof solutions.
• Write maintainable, well-documented code with unit and functional tests, while advocating for best practices in usability, performance, security, accessibility, and code quality.
• Support CI / CD workflows, infrastructure as code, and cloud deployment processes using modern tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or Terraform.
• Leverage AI-augmented development tools to improve workflows, automate tasks, and deliver intelligent features that enhance the user experience.
• Work closely with product managers, business analysts, architects, and developers to clarify requirements, solve problems, and deliver reliable solutions.
• Provide development support for customer escalations and participate in a team support rotation to ensure quality and accountability of deliverables.
• Actively participate in Agile ceremonies, contributing to team velocity, quality, and continuous improvement.
• Stay current with emerging technologies, frameworks, and tools to drive innovation and personal growth.
