Software Engineer II / Senior Software Engineer

Overview

We are hiring multiple Software Engineers II and Senior Software Engineers to join the Microsoft 365 team. These are remote positions, allowing you to work from home. The Microsoft 365 team is looking for software engineers to help design and build one of the fastest-growing cloud services at Microsoft. The team ships new features regularly and focuses on high reliability, privacy and compliance, and millisecond-level latency. Responsibilities involve designing, delivering, and operating high-scale services across products such as Exchange, Teams, and SharePoint, with collaboration across API design, machine learning, distributed computing, workflow engines, and algorithm optimization.

Microsoft 365 is the fastest-growing cloud services business at Microsoft, bringing together cloud versions of trusted communication and collaboration products with the Office desktop suite, in an always up-to-date, integrated service offering.

Responsibilities

• Drive projects through to delivery, removing obstacles to ensure success.
• Contribute to the design of large-scale distributed software services and solutions.
• Write clean, well-tested code.
• Champion and improve team software engineering practices.
• Mentor junior engineers.
• Collaborate with related teams to achieve goals.
• Promote knowledge sharing and contribute to onboarding documentation.
• Participate in the on-call rotation to monitor service health and manage incidents.
