About The Role

Sourcemap is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join their growing development team. You would be joining an enthusiastic and collaborative team of developers in a fully remote position. This role has a strong hands-on component as you would be building and deploying new features to their platform. You would also take part in the development and mentorship of fellow team members by sharing best practices and prior experiences.

What You’ll Do

Prioritizing software development projects, setting timelines, and assigning tasks to team members.

  • Oversee and mentor team members and perform code reviews.
  • Design, develop, and maintain software using technologies such as React, TypeScript, Express, MongoDB, and Neo4, Kafka.
  • Write, test, and maintain software across the stack.
  • Contribute to engineering best practices and technical documentation.
  • Contribute to Github Actions (CI / CD).
  • Demonstrate new features to the rest of the Sourcemap team.
  • Navigate large, unfamiliar code bases (internal and / or 3rd party).
  • Test and Debug issues anywhere in the stack

What You’ll Bring

  • 5+ years writing production-ready Javascript, Node and Typescript
  • 5+ years MongoDB or NoSQL alternative
  • 5+ years Cloud Native Architecture (API / Application Gateways, Pub / Sub, etc)
  • 5+ years of microservices including Docker, containerization, systems thinking
  • Kubernetes knowledge would be a plus
  • Front End Framework (React, Angular)
  • Project Management
  • Other experience : Git, Debugging Other Skills & Qualifications :
  • Effective listening, verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrates openness to others’ ideas.
  • Ability to adapt fast and be agile in a fast-moving environment
  • Enjoys working in a collaborative environment
  • Goal-oriented and a self-starter
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time effectively in order to meet demanding deadlines
  • A natural leader; enjoys mentoring and guiding developers
  • Enthusiastic and positive team player
