Role Overview

We’re looking for a Video Editor to help grow our original show BTC Isla —a flagship weekly vlog documenting the rise of a real Bitcoin circular economy on Isla Mujeres, Mexico.

This is not your average edit.

BTC Isla is part travel documentary series , part Bitcoin explainer , and part personal diary of our co-founder, Isabella Santos, as she builds a circular economy from the ground up. You’ll be editing heartfelt stories, spontaneous island moments, educational breakdowns, and sat-filled merchant interactions into one cohesive, emotionally-charged weekly episode. It’s raw, real, fast-paced—and your edits will define the tone.

Key Responsibilities

Edit BTC Isla Weekly Episodes

Edit one 5–9 minute BTC Isla episode per week using Adobe Premiere Pro
Add style and flair with After Effects —tracked text, masking, light animation, rotoscoping, and motion graphics
Weave together travel footage, interviews, Bitcoin commentary, podcast clips, candid moments, and personal monologues into tight, emotional stories
Color grade mixed footage (Sony, DJI Osmo, drone, stock phone) and ensure visual consistency
Maintain a rigid weekly publishing schedule with fast, clean renders

Creative Collaboration

Manage and organize footage efficiently (large file downloads, consistent folder naming, etc.)

Work closely with Isabella and the Get Based team to shape story arcs, themes, and formats

Join one weekly team meeting during EST daylight hours

Optionally help with repurposing longform content into short reels or cutdowns

Who We’re Looking For

2+ years of experience in video editing and post-production

Expert-level in Premiere Pro, strong skills in After Effects (particularly rotoscoping, tracked type, and subtle motion work)

Editing style that fits travel / lifestyle / documentary content with a personality-driven edge

Must be funny, emotionally tuned-in, and know how to tell a story without overexplaining

Must understand Bitcoin culture or be eager to learn very quickly

Fluent in English; Spanish a huge bonus and will be prioritized

Excellent grasp of color grading across varying lighting and cameras

Comfortable working under tight deadlines with flexibility in schedule

Compensation

This is a part-time contract role with potential for long-term collaboration and bonuses.

Paid per episode with rate based on speed / experience

Option to receive payment in USD, Bitcoin, or a mix

Performance-based bonuses for outlier view count
